Lotus Seed Gravy

Ingredients
- Lotus seed (Makhana) – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 (chopped)
- Tomato – 1 -2
- Ginger – 1 inch
- Garlic 4-5 cloves
- cashews – 1 tablespoon
- Curd or cream – 1/2 cup (for richness)
- Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala -1/2 teaspoon
- Oil or butter – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – to taste
How to make
Step 1
- Take 1 cup lotus seeds

2.Roast the lotus seeds
- Heat 1 teaspoon butter in a pan and dry roast the lotus seeds for 5 minutes until crispy. set aside.
3 In a blunder add tomato, ginger, garlic ,cashew and blend them.
4.Prepare the gravy
- Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and saute until golden brown.
5.Add paste
- Add blended paste and saute until the ram smell disappears.
- Add red chili powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder, cook until oil separates.
6.Lotus seeds
- Add the roasted lotus seed to the gravy and mix well.
- Add 1/2 cup of water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in curd or cream and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Springle garam masala and mix well.
Serve
- Serve hot with chapati, naan or rice
