Ridge gourd chutney Recipe
Ridge gourd chutney is delicious and simple South Indian recipe.Ridge gourd is called peerkangai in Tamil, also known as turai,luffa, and chinese okra. Ridge gourd is mildly sweet in taste. Rich in vitamin A, B2 and C. It also contain phosphorus, calcium and iron. How to make this chutney recipe, step by step pictures added.
Ingredients
- Ridge gourd – 2 cups (peeled and chopped)
- Red chili – 4
- Bengal gram – 1 tablespoon
- Grated coconut – 2 tablespoon
- Mustard seeds (for seasoning)
- Oil – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – to taste
How to prepare
1.Peel and chop the ridge gourd

- Peel the ridge gourd and chopped it.
2.Heat oil and temper spice

- Heat oil in a pan, add bengal gram and red chili saute until bengal gram turn golden.
3.Cook ridge gourd

- Add chopped ridge gourd . Mix well, cover and cook for low flame for 10 minutes until soft.
4.Add coconut

- Add grated coconut and mix well. And simmer for 2 to 3 minutes and switch off the flame and let it cool
5. Add salt

- Blend the mixture using a blender.
6.Season and serve
- Season with mustard seeds and serve hot with rice, idly,dosa or chapati.
